We had a successful 2-day Annual Bazaar at Greenhills last Saturday and Sunday, November 5 & 6, 2005.

Mrs. Bergonia B. Ortigas was Guest of Honor. She arrived 30 minutesbefore the appointed 10 a.m. ribbon cutting. This is because she makes it a point to buy from our Workshop booth before anyone else - and she did buy quite a lot. She really is our "buena mano" every year! After that, sales was very good - so good, in fact, that income for the first day alone was more than the total 2-day sales last year.

This was also what all the other vendors were saying. Most of them experienced very slow sales prior to our Bazaar. But sales last Saturday alone more than made up for their losses -- one vendor sold PhP 100,000, another sold 3-day's equivalent, and yet another said their sales was like having 5 booths!!!

Almost all vendors (even the first timers at our Bazaar) did very well. And they say they have only the Women's Board to thank. It is very heartening to receive calls and text messages of thanks and promises of support for our next Bazaar.

Everyone missed our Raffle, though. There were a lot of people asking why we did not have any reffle this year. True, Ortigas & Co. gave us additional booths which more than made up for our projected Raffle earnings, but, people did miss the fun and the "noise" that comes with our hourly raffle and, of course, the raffling off of the grand prize. Maybe we can have one next year - we did receive pledges of support for the raffle if we ever plan to have one again.

Marivic Dacillo and Mely Fernandez would like to thank:

+ All Women's Board volunteers who helped make this event a success. Your presence and moral support made the task easy.
+ Emma Reyes for unselfishly sharing her time, talent and valuable Bazaar experience
+ Malu and Grace for their unending support
+ All our vendors for their enthusiasm and support
+ The Ortigases and Ortigas & Co., Limited Partnership for their commitment to their charities
